Smaller than the R1s, this model will be a new, more affordable entry point to the brand when it goes on sale in 2026, starting at $45,000.<br/><br/>It will be available with one, two or three electric motors. The single-motor setup will power the rear wheels, while the other two will have all-wheel drive available. All three can travel more than 300 miles on a single charge, and the most powerful version can hit 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds.<br/><br/>The new SUV can accommodate five people with its 115.6-inch wheelbase. The R2 is much smaller than its R1S sibling; It is 185.6 inches long, 84.4 inches wide with mirrors, and 66.9 inches tall. It is 15 inches shorter than the R1S and has less off-road capability.<br/><br/>There's still a pedigree here, though. The R2 gets 9.8 inches of ground clearance with a 25-degree approach angle and a 27-degree departure angle. Today, it is expanding into the Rivet, the third model from its two existing model lines.<br/><br/>“The Rivet is Bowlus' most durable travel trailer and is completely different from the existing range,” says the brand. In reality, the Rivet looks largely the same as its sister models, Voterra and Terra Firma. Like Terra Firma, it has an 8 kWh battery and a layout that will be very familiar to existing Bowlus owners.<br/><br/>The major differences appear to be in a few specific areas. The M850i boasts a 523-hp twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 and standard all-wheel drive. While the base engine doesn't pack the wallop that the V-8 does, it's still plenty quick and produces a pleasant timbre when rushed. Those looking for more substantial thrust won't be disappointed by the M850i, which has a detuned version of the engine in the BMW M8 Gran Coupe (reviewed separately) that makes up to 617 ponies.
